Oriental Area Rug Cleaning provided expert commercial carpet cleaning for a high-traffic Manhattan restaurant. Our 5-step industrial steam process eliminated deep-seated kitchen grease and organic odors, restoring a 5-star sanitary environment.
Project Overview
A popular restaurant in Midtown Manhattan contacted Oriental Area Rug Cleaning to address heavily soiled carpets in their main dining area and entryway. Restaurant flooring faces unique challenges: constant foot traffic, food spills, and a thin layer of airborne kitchen grease that traps dirt.
Our team was tasked with a deep-restoration clean that would remove stubborn stains and neutralize food odors without disrupting the restaurant’s operating hours. We utilized our IICRC-certified techniques to ensure the space was sanitized and guest-ready for the next day’s service.
Before & After Results
| Feature | Before Service | After Service |
| Visual Condition | Darkened traffic lanes and visible grease spots near the kitchen. | Uniform appearance; 100% removal of oil-based staining. |
| Sanitation | High bacteria count from food particles and moisture. | Fully sanitized with EPA-registered, food-safe solutions. |
| Texture | Flattened, matted fibers due to heavy soil buildup. | Restored pile height and soft, professional texture. |
The Process
High-Power Industrial Vacuuming: We started by removing dry abrasive soil and grit that cause premature wear to commercial-grade carpet fibers.
Grease-Cutting Pre-Treatment: We applied a specialized, eco-friendly emulsifier to break down animal fats and vegetable oils common in NYC dining environments.
Mechanical Pile Agitation: Using counter-rotating brushes, we lifted matted fibers to ensure the cleaning solution reached the base of the carpet.
Truck-Mounted Steam Extraction: Our system used high-temperature steam to “melt” away contaminants, followed by powerful suction to remove all moisture and residue.
Deodorizing & Grooming: A final neutralizing rinse was applied to eliminate odors at the source, followed by grooming for a fast, even dry.
